The Atlanta Falcons franchise has a unique history. Originally the franchise was courted by the American Football League, but since the owner of the franchise, Rankin Smith was offered an NFL position he surely took it. Many people do not know that the Falcons name was inspired by a school teacher. The Franchise drafted Brett Favre in 1991 and he spent is Rookie season with the Falcons. The Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints hold a record breaking rivalry since the both were the only two teams in the South back when the NFL was young. Quarterback Matt Ryan was born May 17,1985 in Exton. Pennsylvania. Matt Ryan went Boston College after graduating from William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Ryan is also the Atlanta Falcons All-Time Passing Leader and will go down as one of the best quarterbacks the franchise has ever had.
